Doggy day care

From today, Luna is going to a hike, doggy day care, with Muffin every Tuesday.
In the morning, I bring Luna to Muffin’s. When we get to Muffin’s yard, Muffin is sleeping in her bed. Luna gets her out from the bed to say, “Let’s play!”
While they are playing, a dog walker has come to pick them up. Then, they go to a hike and play whole day and come home late afternoon.

Luna is only one little dog in a group, but the dog walker says that corgis think as a big dog and has no problem with big dogs. I totally agree…

A few days later, I got a phone call from a dog walker regarding Luna’s behavior on the first day. She said that Luna was quiet, always stayed in a group, and was easy to handle. She barks a lot at home, but she is really quiet and behaves nicely outside. Like mother, like daughter…

Anyway, I felt like a parent who got a phone call from a school teacher.

Luna saved our lives...

When I am working, Luna is just sleeping usually, but once she feels something, she barks at anything she feels odd. Luna is somehow sensitive.

I started boiling water and forgot about it while I was working. At one time, her bark was really hard and I felt something different. Then I went to the living room.
She was barking toward the kitchen. Yes, the kettle which I was boiling water was empty. It seemed that it just got empty, so it didn't smell that much.
How did she find out? I was just so impressed and hugged her.

Chocolate

Something that I miss regarding Japan is chocolate.
Every time when I go to emiko.com, I really miss chocolate by Japanese bland…

One day, I was surfing on the net and dropped by Emiko-san’s site, Luna came to me and was trying to look at it. It is really true… Luna might be a big fun of chocolate as well, like mother, like daughter. However, dogs are not allowed to eat chocolate. Sorry, Luna.

Squirrels

There are a lot of squirrels on Stanford campus. Luna is so curious about the creatures. When she finds one, she is trying to chase. But she is on leash and a squirrel is quickly climbing up a tree. She can never say "Hi" to a squirrel. Poor Luna...

Happy New Year!

Luna and I had great holidays. That's why I couldn't update this journal frequently. We have been busy at work as well as for fun...

Luna and I went to a road trip to Santa Barbara. Unfortunately, the weather was not quite good, but we really had a good time overall. Although this was the first long drive for both of us, Luna and I are a good team, I assume.

We stayed at the Doubletree hotel in Santa Barbara. When we checked in, Luna got a bag of doggy cookie, and I got a famous Doubletree cookie, which made us smile.

I brought Luna to the three dog bakery, which is a bakery for dogs. This company has shops in Japan as well and also published a cookbook for doggy treats.
Here is the link to Amazon.co.jp.

Thinking back to 2004, there were so many things happened to me. Meeting Luna was the one of the greatest things.
